I had read all these novellas previously, and as you will see, 5 stars is not even enough for all this awesomeness!ONE LITTLE KISS
It’s three days before St-Patrick’s Day, Leighton Greer’s college graduation is in less than 3 months, and she’s on her way to Dublin for a Music Festival when her flight is cancelled because of a snow storm. All the hotels are booked, of course, but who should she meet but Jonas Sutton, her brother’s roommate and best friend. He’s always had a crush on her, and when he sees her stranded, he offers her to share his room; she has no choice, and she knows it could spell trouble of the sexy sort. And good for us! Phew! ONE LITTLE KISS is so sexy, it could melt your ereader! But it’s not all though, it’s a very emotional story because of the characters’ backgrounds. It’s also very passionate in several ways. Ms. Covington has written a short but complete story, that will have you in tears as well. Awesome!

Hell hath no fury like a baseball General Manager done wrong! Kat Carter took over from her father as GM for the Virginia Venom baseball team; baseball is in her blood, but so is Derek Foxx, a former lover who now plays for a rival team. Kat hopes to get Derek to jump on board, even though she was the one who broke off with him several years ago. The sparks are still there, but Kat is all-business, even though no one was ever as good as Derek. Derek is approaching retirement, and he’s looking at what he’ll be doing down the road, if only Kat would agree to go down that road with him. Kat is a stubborn woman! But Derek really wants them to get together, and will do just about anything to win her back.
Ms. Covington has written a baseball book as good as her recent football one! She knows her baseball; the atmosphere felt absolutely authentic, Kat and Derek came as totally genuine, and they had fabulous chemistry, even with the push-and-pull, mostly the pushing by Kat. There is one word that repeatedly came to mind: sultry! In spite of Kat and Derek’s tug of war, there was no feeling of antagonism to the whole thing; it is a lovely story, very well told, about communicating. Derek had to show Kat that she could be a sports professional and still remain a sexy woman, and he is a brilliant character; he’s a man’s man, but assumes his tender side. SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY is a very beautiful love story really, very sexy, but what prevails in the end is what is important in one’s life and what one ought to do to get it; establishing priorities. Another fine, fine book by Robin Covington!
WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR EYES:
Seven years ago, both Gabe Underwood and Ellie Compton enlisted in the Marines; they were madly in love, and 3 days before leaving, Gabe asked Ellie to marry him. They stayed in contact off and on, but Ellie stopped communicating with Gabe in the past year; she moved away to work in a nursing home. Now, it’s 3 days before Christmas, and Ellie comes back one last time to her home town of Holly Tree. Gabe returned to his home town, had been dating Alison for a while, but she wants more than he can give him, because he is still in love with Ellie. When he sees Ellie back in town, he decides it’s time she opened her eyes to what they could have together. Both have suffered from PTSD, but Ellie has not been handling the repercussions very well, even though she is still under treatment.
It seems that Robin Covington is heading in one direction: excellence! Every book she writes is better than the previous one! WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR EYES is truly exceptional! The characters are very complex, and we experience the whole gamut of emotions along with them: Gabe’s compassion, Ellie’s pain, anguish, torment, as well as all her efforts to heal. Their love is passionate, genuine, and deep, and it is a hard road to their happily ever after. WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR EYES is a novella, and yet it is so complete, it feels like a whole novel. The writing is smooth and sensitive; Gabe and Ellie’s story seems as if it really unfolds before our eyes. Absolutely magnificent! I cannot wait to see what Ms. Covington has in store for us in the future, because WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR EYES will be hard to top, but I trust Robin Covington will be able to surpass herself. Not to be missed at any cost!

Nearly everybody hates Eli in his small town: he’s gay, his mother was Japanese, he’s an artist. And Eli is angry at them all, for all the injustices of the past, because his now ex-boyfriend in Austin betrayed him; he’s not in a good place. An old friend from school, Marnie, is nice to him, however. And then he meets the Texas Ranger Shepherd – Shep – Lockwood, who is also gay. Things might be looking up after all, but then very, very unpleasant things start happening, even murder!
Is this getting old? Robin Covington has penned yet another fantastic book! SHADOW RANCH is a male/male romantic suspense, and it is absolutely brilliant! I knew it was a novella, and it was so good, I wanted more; I hope Ms. Covington will give us a bit more of Eli and Shep some time in the future. The story is extremely well crafted: I had no idea who the guilty party was or who it was. I liked both characters: they felt real, without being perfect, which I appreciate quite a bit. The author didn’t fall prey to any clichés whatsoever, for which I am ever so grateful. The romance felt entirely realistic, and the sex scenes are sizzling hot and feel genuine. In short: SHADOW RANCH is excellent, and the way things are going, I expect no less from Robin Covington!
